Fans are used to force heat dissipation through the air

Air circulation allows larger amounts of heat to be dissipated and prevents the formation of hot spots.
This results in a more uniform heat distribution in closed enclosures.
When using filter fans, either cool ambient air is drawn in and blown into the enclosure (positive pressure), or the warm air inside is extracted and blown outside (negative pressure)..
